I was literally just talking about this yesterday with bluechill. Here is the conversation as follows.

I know.  But it's not going to get past the senate and if it does Obama will veto it.

Don't expect Obama to do anything about it. He's an absolute deceptive shill and would be fully supportive of the bill.

Then again, maybe his superiors are smart enough to instruct him not to accept it yet...

Why would they postpone it? Thought they were all for the idea of securing down the web, or at least having a major monitoring power over it.

Has nothing to do with security, not even in the same dictionary.
Its the pure illusion of security driven and justified by the smell of fear.
There is nothing secure about a man standing in the corner of your room just watching you all day.
That would be frowned upon, no... but when it comes to internet/privacy etc nobody seems to give a shit...riot.

Ow boy just wait till ipv6 kicks in, that gonna be something when it comes to individual privacy.

I always seem to get pissed about this kinda stuff so excuse my french.

I hate politics :).

I also hate how media has made hacking a bad thing.
I guess it will be passed even if they insisted at first.

Unfortunately, politicians are still incredibly misinformed when it comes to the internet and the idea of free information.

The media then helps to make sure that the public is misinformed by continually speaking of viruses and DDoS-attacks. I understand that newschannels have to appeal to the public in order to get higher ratings but it has gotten to the point where most people have a skewed view of the digital world.

I therefore think CISPA is what happens when ill-intentioned politicians make use the the public's ignorance.

I don't have cable so i can't comment on the media aspect :3 Hence why i posted here.

Everyones going to hate me for saying this, but, truth is it CAN prevent serious crimes from happening. And that's why it will probably pass. It sucks, truly, but fuck can we do? The majority of people most likely wouldn't even give a shit if you explained to them what it meant anyways.

CISPA got turned down in the Senate so we don't have to worry about for a while.
