Website based proxy's
« on: July 09, 2013, 05:16:10 pm »
How reliable are website based proxy's like:
Proxify, Hidemyass, VyprVPN.
How would you go about "chaining proxy's"?
Are website based proxy's the best when it comes to proxy's or are there more reliable and effective methods?

Chaining website proxys is slow. And chain proxier is already done, its called tor.
There is risks in every proxy but from that list hma is worst
Best proxy is to buy small apartment with fake id, put only proxy computer there, and proxy to it. And keep autowipe for that in case of police. :D

Well, proxychains is the most common way to chain proxies together. Check out my sticky tutorial in the Anonymity section. It has loads more information on the topic.

What do you mean by chaining website proxy's is slow? Could you describe the process that makes it slow(maybe tedious)?
When it comes to putting all efforts into anonymity Tor would be my pick?

What do you mean by "proxychains" is the most common way to chain proxy's together? This is a website app?
And I will review that tut when I get home, thanks. :)
I know proxy's is just one subject when it comes to anonymity. What are the others?

It's an application. It's only for Linux. You should browse around the Anonymity section as your question has been asked there before. Should find some good info in there.

because, when using website proxy it goes like this: you connect website, its connects proxy, it connects other end. And when you chain website proxys: you->website->proxy->website->proxy etc.
When you straight contact to proxy it goes like this you->proxy->proxy etc.

Hidemyass is know for selling out to gov.
Dont use that.

They all track , be aware of that.
If you want some really good http(s) proxies you gotta scan for them yourself.
The ones youll find on the webs are 95% slow.

How do I scan for a proxy that won't sell me out?
And if I had 50 proxies would I be near immune from being found? Or is their a certain point where it doesn't matter, there is a way to bypass someone w/ proxies? Is it possible that if you have 5 proxies going, that maybe the 3rd proxy could be a weak link?
Also, I know that with proxies it doesn't matter someone could eventually find out who hosts the proxy and subpoena the information they want(logs). So when using a proxy in the USA a good proxy host in the chain(of 5-6 proxies) would be Hong Kong, North Korea(places that will say "fuck off" to the USA and not spill the info)?

Well that's a lot of questions. First of all, if you did something that you think requires 50 proxies, then whoever is looking for you will eventually find you. Second, you do have to worry about which countries the proxies are located in but be careful. North Korea saying fuck off to the US doesn't mean it's a good proxy place. I'd say Sweden might be a good place.

If you have to ask how to find proxies you probably would be best off grabbing a book about networking, study some TCP.
Chaining proxies is not a bad practise but I can tell you from experience that it can be a extremely tough job to construct a good chain that is stable, second comes speed which sounds irrelevant but I promise you that it matters, a shit load of timeouts creates a complete chaos.

The best proxies (and I should prob not be saying this) are those you create yourself(go figure what that means)
Its about them logs, if there is one log leading to another , to another etc you might aswel not do anything as its only time your buying.
But the idea you got behind different countries imo holds up pretty wel.
I support the idea that political differences can be used in ones favour.
Apart from that I think that making your identity such a costy game to trace will increase the odds.
However this will only hold up to a certain point.

Again , let me stress this, if you think your gonna need proxies for whatever , make sure you do your homework and study networking.
The answer will not only be irrelevant but you will understand why I said what I did.
