"The Saboteur" mini-review
« on: September 08, 2013, 10:29:28 am »

Available for: Windows, PS3, XBOX360

The game's protagonist, Sean Devlin (based on William Grover-Williams), is a hard drinking Irish racecar mechanic,[1] a regular among the racing groups of Paris. After being cheated out of a win in the 1940 Saarbrücken Grand Prix by Kurt Dierker, a Nazi colonel, Sean and his best friend Jules Rousseau seek revenge and sabotage his prized racecar. After being captured, Dierker executes Jules during interrogation under the belief they are really British agents sent to spy on him, but Sean escapes. The rest of the storyline chronicles Sean's fight to kill Dierker. He is recruited by the French Resistance, its leader Luc, and British SOE, who help him throughout the story. The story takes place during World War II and the German occupation of France, but the war itself is used as a backdrop to the main story, which is about Sean's fight to avenge Jules' murder, protect Jules' sister Veronique, and kill Dierker.

My input:

I have played this game to the end and it was awesome every second I played it. Great landscape, huge map, simple control, has some stealth elements in it. Great conversations and lots and lots of stuff blow up :D
All in all this game is very interesting and enjoyable. Even when you finish the main missions, there are still things to do and explore!

I finished the game more than a year ago, it was awesome, except the back/white elements of the game.

There were times when the gray screen would be a bit annoying, but overall I think it was a genius solution to show when you are hidden in the shadows, how visible you are...

I loved this game.  Saboteur is the game that made me realize that of all the game types available, my favourite involves open-world, 'climb anything'.  Saboteur, Assassin's Creed, Infamous, Prototype, even Spiderman.  If only the Prince of Persia - Sands of Time series was as open, it'd be awesome.

I personally LOVE Crackdown because the main point of it was you had an open city and you could climb and go anywhere, literally anywhere.  Too bad the second was shit.  Maybe the 3rd on the Xbox One will be as amazing as the first.
I have dreamed a dream, but now that dream has gone from me.  In its place now exists my own reality, a reality which I have created for myself by myself.

@bluechill; I only played the 2nd Crackdown, not the first.  I'll have to give it a spin.

I have played this, but more like you would play GTA san andreas. It lacked some features and when i completed 2 hours of missions i could already walk around town and shoot down everything and really everything like zeppelins and stuff.
