This phone gave me so much hell (mostly because I never bothered to fix it other than restoring it to factory state..) so I finally bought a new phone (Pantech P8010). As soon as my new phone comes in, I'm restoring this one to factory again and rooting it.

But then what? I'll have this perfectly good phone that I can still use wifi with..so what should I do with it?

Try to cook some rom for this. Play games video etc...... Or just sold it and spend the money to improve ur knowledge ......

Korea?? I live in central northern US, and Pantech is actually really popular around here. I guess I should have made my question more specific though, I was wondering what the SII's capabilities were as far as hacking, like what apps I could download and what a good hacking-related use for it would be.

I'd suggest compiling a custom kernel and rom and then make a rom like a pentesting suite. Dsploit is a good start, then bugtroid has a good list on mobile pentesting suites. If you compile your kernel to be compatible with other wireless drivers as well as usb host so you can insmod them and use a usb otg. After that you can use a chrooted kali to do some pentesting, especially if you have insmodded drivers for external wireless that supports monitor/injection. Trust me it would be a project but a very nice rewarding one and you can document your experiment here. Another option is working on getting a native linux flavor on your device as well.
