In a move to strengthen its foothold in India, Amazon India is giving away 31 premium apps worth $100 via its Amazon Android Store for free. The program will run for two days 27 and 28 June.
The list includes top games like Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Real Shanghai Mahjong and Sudoku 10,000 Plus as well as productivity apps like 2Do:TodoList and MobiLearn Talking Phrasebook as well as office apps like acalendar+ and MyBackup Pro.
As per the announcement, the apps should list under Free App of the Day programme. But, when we checked it has only one app listed and when we manually searched for the above mentioned apps, they are indeed available for free.
Parag Gupta, Country Head, Amazon Appstore told a Indian daily that a lot of Indian Android users were coming to Amazon for its exceptional experience. “Our Free App of the Day programme is hugely successful and makes users come back to us. We just want them to continue using our store and that is where bundling of apps is also coming popular,” he said.
