Unrooted smartphone

Hello guys!
1. Is possible to make a RAT (e.g. AndroRat) to work on an unrooted smartphone?
2. Can you give me some ideas on what can I do (like stealing photos, messages, etc.) on a unrooted smartphone?

1. It might be possible, but the capabilities would probably be limited. It would need to rely on other sploits and clever ways of running.
2. You can't hide an app on an unrooted phone - too few permissions. However it could be done if you disguise the app and make it do other shit as well as legit shit to mask itself.

Thank you for your answer, Kulverstukas. Actually, that won't be hard to bind my app with a legitimate app from play store. Does a keylogger with a FTP connection ( only when to send the registered hotkeys at a defined interval ) requires root?

It probably does, you'll need to hook into system events... also it sounds like you are trying to bind some android malware and make it run on some device, that's pretty lame, I expected you to code something :/

Did it end in success?  Just curious...  I had to get highster's mobile app 2 access an unrooted phone, good enugh, got gps, pic, sms, innstalled apps and opened apps with a time line of course ;)
Excuse me if im totally off, i'm a newbee! REALLY! Haha started snooping and experimenting just a month ago, so far 1 less phone and tablet and my laptop is not 2either. Haha. Learning :)

Don't necro. If it's older than 3 weeks or something, just pm op.

You make no sense. You got access to an unrooted phone to install a RAT on it or am I just reading your post wrong. If it's not yours you shouldn't be installing crap on it it's like hacking into someone's computer, pulling up notepad while the user might be watching and typing up "Someone wuz here loooooool"

Well the phone came out of my pocket, and if it dies I'm the one that has 2 get a new one ;) That's a part of being a mum 2 a young girl unfortunately ;) But rather that, better safe than sorry (my opinion, know many don't agree)

Look, take it from a 16 year old girl who hangs out with the "wrong" crowd. Keylogging your daughter's cell phone is the LEAST of your issues. TRUST ME.
