New Hacking Game
« on: March 08, 2015, 12:23:58 am »
Summary: It's hacking game in which you upload viruses to other people computers and eventually crash their system and they will get a BSOD.
Hello! This is Impossible-Studios and this is our game we've been working on for a year now. It's called BSOD, which stands for Blue Screen Of Death (after the famous windows error message). It's an online hacking game with a virtual desktop environment, in which you can use your initiative and creativity to outwit the people on the server and the AI. We will have afull currency system and an in-game shop in which users can sell and buy programs and computer components. We currently have a powerful modding system using LUA, in which users can completely modify the base game or make new content. We also have the ability to import themes for the controls in the windows.

much power very information
- puddi, stop acting like you would even know how to play this game if you wanted to. lol

For real though, I've been waiting for an online player Vs. player hacking game so hopefully this will live up to my expectations. I don't like the idea of currency, earned by in game play time or otherwise, giving you an advantage over a player with higher skills who lacks the components you purchased. It should be an even playing field with an option to play in a ranked forum which would place you in a game with players that match your skill level according to your record and past performances. The objectives should also reflect the users skill level therefore cultivating a fertile environment for knowledge acquisition.

The name could of been more original, lel, but I suppose it reflects the goal... which is kinda lame - I mean goal is to crash other people?
The idea is a very cool one tho, kinda like CTF but in a simulated reality. So this reminds me of those hacking simulators Uplink, StreetHacker and whatnot.
As for the game - well, I very much hope this is the first draft to show a concept, because the graphics are so lame lol.

Btw how many are there working on the team? is there any real security guy on your team? if not you're gonna have a bad time designing the logic.
