Stolen Phone Retrieval
« on: May 22, 2015, 09:40:07 am »
Hi,

I had my phone stolen a while ago. I spotted the other day that my phone synch'd to my google account, see the below screeny. Note the date says it synch'd yesterday, but actually it was the 20th May (i took the screeny yesterday).

I contacted the police but they said "they don't have the resources to help". So I'm taking matters to my own hands and wondering if I could get community help?

My master plan is to publish an Andriod app to the phone that takes a picture on the camera without a preview and uploads it to a website (This part of the app I have already created). Next is to give longitude and latitude locations from GPS every few seconds and publish the results to a website (I haven't got this part done yet). I'll then disguise the app as something like a photo gallery app, then remotely push the app to the device after I've had the app published. Then I'll wait for my results.

I think my plan is sound. But I thought I'd see if you guys know a way to get onto this device, or help me retrieve it? Is there any good hacking type apps that turn any firewall type protection off the phone because I'd like to be able to ssh to it? Bare in mind, if you guys want to try and break or hack my stolen phone, I give you full permission.

Yeah, your plan is solid, except for the part where you have to put the app on that device... which is somewhat imposibru.

Why is it not possible to push the app to the device? You can use google push to do it...

Or you could just install lookout from a computer to push it to the phone if they're still logged into your gmail...

If it where me, I would push cp on it then call the cops back and report it. Fuck the phone, the guy would face better punishment for the cp. Not only by law, but be registered as a sex offender and disowned by family. Just me though.

That's correct. But about your app if its point is to get stolen phone back i would say that there is hundred + apps for that kind of thing and most of those has much more functionality that you listed in your post regarding your app idea.  E.g. "lost android" app or something like that.

I can't install normal apps because I don't have the phone mate. I need to disguise it as something that the thief would potentially install because he's thick as shit. So I was hoping that some music or photo app would make him think it was just some update or something & he would install it.

< Deleted shit >
Edit: I guess from DeepCopy's meme post that my assumptions were not correct so lets take bad info away.[emoji2]
And also read Op's last post again. So it seems he knows the person who has the phone, so his whole starting post seems even more weird now..
