Care to elaborate? Backdoors in the software? That's non issue because I'm pretty confident that Kulverstukas wouldn't leave it an OEM install.
Why not? A lot of people use Windows as main OS. Forewarned is forearmed.

All computers are subject to faulty parts, over heating graphics cards, bad capacitors bla bla.
If you run a Dell shop then your gonna count more defective dells.
You run a HP shop, same thing.

Lenovos are not without fault:

Im with iTpHo3NiX in that I have worked/repaired on a large variety of laptops and I also think asus and acer are decent machines for the price. Regardless of HP or Dell or Lenovo; the laptops that are most likely to fuck up are the ones with the fan exhaust is on the bottom of the laptop or the laptops come with nvidia or amd chipsets.

Buy a laptop that is a year old, so you know what problems they have.

I have a Lenovo Y510p which runns great, only downside is that i had to replace the CPU fan twice since i bought it ~3 years ago. Yeah battery really sucks also but that's prolly because mine comes with 2 Graphic cards SLI.
Even though I would choose Lenovo over Dell any day of the week.

I would also upgrade ram from 4 as hight as you can, especially when you run VMs, I hate laggy VMs!!!
