There are some third party software.

One of them is Spotmau PowerSuite

here is some info

 http://www.wondershare.com/disk-utility/ntfs-to-fat.html

here is download link for golden edition.

Code: [Select]

 http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/6140619/Spotmau_PowerSuite_2011_v_6.0.0.0907_GoldenEdition_carter67

if you want it then spend some time with google, may be you can find it with crack.

and if so please share it it.

Don't know how to do it without losing anything, but if you've backed up all your files use gparted. I've always loved it. Simple, and gets the job done. If needing something more advanced, fdisk / cfdisk

My problem is not with my HDD ,I have a 16 GB usb stick. As you all know USB's are mostly FAT32 and FAT32 can't handle files that are bigger than 4 GB, so i converted it to NTFS a few weeks ago since then I've been having a problem with installing any Linux distribution on my usb .

use ext2 + extlinux? could keep a NTFS partition for windows files. a suggestion, my linux-usb are all manually created.

Got 32G, with GRUB(1 laptop not support syslinux).. gentoo, ubuntu, bt5. For quick/easy you are correct. Some installcds will actually require the ISO itself, otherwise will claim missing files(centOS). Also if he wants to keep all that crap on his USB drive...

Its not in every case.
and here we are talking about os. not one file.
i transfer more than 4 gb data everyday on my 8 gb usb stick.
so basically he just want to install linux on stick.
so  why not just format it in normal way with FAT32 !!

Yes ? a USB stick . I always try different Linux distributions, so I use my USB stick since most of the Linux versions are USB bootable

What's the problem?
