Weekly challenges
« on: May 19, 2012, 11:49:35 pm »
So the staff has decided that we should make these coding challenges as they were discussed in this thread.
Therefore a dedicated sub-board has been created under "Projects and discussion", here.

There are 2 sticky topics that should be read, right now there is no challenge posted, hopefully we will get one ready on monday.
This is something to keep member occupied during their free time while the new Evilzone era arrives ^^

Now the judges on the code can be anyone. Everyone is welcome to comment on everyone else's code and point out mistakes/corrections/suggestions and whatnot.

Also current local moderators have been assign to that sub-board to monitor the activity and help with polls :)

I am going to post some suggestions right now.
I have a question, is exploit programming for any known bug allowed? That would be an interesting point, but it requires related knoweldge.
Or giving an example vulnerable program (in code or executable form) and asking for an exploit. This, being programming related, is kinda more specific. However, subforum is called "Weekly challenges" :P

Maybe the implementation of a data structure like linked list. Or maybe solving a problem. Your avatar, Kulver. A program to write the "kind of text" (if you know what I mean, lol) in your current avatar to ascii.

Maybe something more hard? Or more simple?

I don't know, you people suggest stuff. Exploit dev could be one of them, it ranged from simple to elite and not everyone is into that. In any way "Weekly challenges" is in the forum "Programming" :P

Bump! The first problem has been posted, there has been a little change in the game flow as well - now for every challenge a dedicated topic will be created where the problem will be posted and where all the solution should be posted as well.

This way if you have a really good idea you can make a new challenge by yourself by creating new topic and writing the details!
