Article for PenTest Magazine
« on: July 12, 2012, 08:52:01 am »
Hello!

Would any of you be interested in contributing some material, an article, basically, to our magazine (pentestmag.com), in exchange for self-promotion possibilities? Our next issue will be entitled DdoS attacks, and I think that there are members of your forum, who could contribute relevant input. Don't hesitate to ask me for further details, if interested.

Cheers

I would love to write something. But not on ddos, i think it is for the weak.
Better use intelligence than force.   I would like to write about hacking with google, hacking losts scripts etc.

Well, for this particular issue we need something about DdoS, but you have a lot of freedom in choosing the details, we don't force you into anything. And of course we can establish a more lasting cooperation, and our future issues will certainly focus on other subjects, hopefully more interesting for you. I hope we can achieve a compromise ;]

I'm not trying to discredit you or anything, but why would a website with professional affiliates ask for amateur hackers to contribute to their magazine? This isn't the first time I've seen this happen. I ask this because a lot of people in the security industry like to think that we don't know anything, and that we're all script kiddies.

So why come to the underground, where everybody is supposedly stupid?

If anyone is starting any projects, especially regarding network apps, I'm interested....

Most people in pentesting security don't think those in the underground are "script-kiddies". It's often a function of political stance. A lot of security pro community, especially ones who do work for government, are into law enforcement/good guys and think hackers are incompetent, just by the fact they aren't doing what they are (in terms of risk and where they are in the power structure/system).

Hehe, been having a hard time contacting us eh? I saw the email but I didn't have the time to respond. But I guess a topic is just fine ;)

Also I agree with Factionwars. Writing about DDoS is not very interesting unless it is something new, and even then it is not really all that interesting. I am not sure what I could write that is not already published a million other places and is not days of work, I will keep it in mind tho. :)

I wouldn't mind to contribute, but maybe on other topics I am better suited for. Maybe the next issue or something? I would say keep us in mind for further issues coming out.
