No-GUI proxy

Does anyone know a proxy program (simple like ultrasurf) that has no gui?

not exactly. The scripts were linux shell commands but I want something for Windows.
Also the shown scripts use a sample proxy which does not actually exist.
I was about to write one but I can't get a socket to listen on port 8080 (the host doesn't let me).
so I was looking for a program, like Ultrasurf, just without any GUI.

Sorry admin! won't be repeated...
the thing is that I didn't know there was a place called Proxy List!
But meh, it didn't work anyways.
I'm not sure how Ultrasurf works. I thought it just finds a proxy, and changes IE proxy settings to connect to it. But I took one of those proxies in the proxy list and changed the settings myself, but IE didn't connect successfully. Ran Ultrasurf and it worked!
I wonder what I'm doing wrong...
do those proxies expire after a while? Because where I was testing I didn't have access to the proxy list page so I tested the ones I'd recorded yesterday...

It depends you need to find a good up proxy and configure it correctly. Should work just fine.

I googled but there are either proxy websites or the servers trying to make money off their proxy services. 
1. Please post here if you know a good proxy server (IP:Port).
2. Is an IP:Port proxy (such as the ones listed here) the same as a VPN? If not what's their difference?

VPN's and Proxy's are different



Proxies on the list work just fine, just set your web browser up to connect to them

sorry for being a n00b!
yeah they work fine in the beginning, but after a couple of hours they stop working. Where I want to use the proxy, I don't have access to the proxy listing page.
I want something that is permanently up and running...

Then you'll have to buy your own. Proxy uptime is a completley different situation. Proxies go up and down.

No you don't set proxy settings for a vpn you tunnel your connection through a VPN

Yeah, I've had good, but limited, experiences with SSH tunnels so far. You don't need a GUI for at least some of these either.
