I don't mean hacking as in what the popular conception of hacking is i mean like while programming or writing scripts or actually hacking say passwords or anything like that?Such as listen to music...if so what kind?do you document what your doing or....? I personal, while coding anything really love to listen to music such as Eminem or Disturbed etc. .

Music with lyrics distracts me. How can you listen to Eminem and code O.o? I do listen to electronic music though, trance mostly, spacemusic is also good.

Music used to distract me in the past, but now I just get into the zone and do what ever I am doing while unconsciously blocking and filtering out all noises and music from the background. I can pretty much be in a party with loud noises, but still focus on something and just ignore all the outside stuff.
This being said, I do not listen to music while doing anything that requires concentration as I wound not appreciate it anyway, since I can't be both fully focused on something I am doing and paying attention to the music.

Always while I work (not just programming): classical music.

a. It generally has no lyrics (apart from some Latin or German etc.) Which is good because when you're writing words or code you it's irritating to have lyrics.

b. Very calming. Work can be stressful and the music helps.

c. A good understanding of classical music (you'll get one by listening to it a lot) is great to have. Employers like it because it makes you seem "cultural (don't like the word tbh)", and there's an long and interesting history to the subject.

I like a lot of music, but Classical is definetley the most expressive. And when I say classical I mean a lot of things. Film music counts, I had the Shawshank Redemption soundtrack on the other day. Great track called Ziheutanajo or something like that..

Agreed, music. Usually I stick to an avicii or deadnou5 playlist on pandora then do my coding/reading/whatever. Some days ill do an excision mix instead though lol. I like having that electronic music going though as it has fast beats and slow beats which matches how I work. Sometimes you gotta go slow and get into the groove then next thing I know there's a fast beat and I'm in.the.zone.so.I start typing like a maniac lol.
Occasionally, depending on my mood, ill even put on some sort of rock or metal playlist cause once I finally get into my work Im so focused I don't even notice lyrics even as I'm unconsciously singing them under my breath. Once I'm in the zone, i really don't notice anything except whatever I'm focused on lol

I don't really do computer hacking, but when using my version of hacking abilities to solve issues around the house, I prefer think out loud. Saying what I'm doing makes me put the pieces together better.  I know I'm weird, because that is pretty much talking to myself.

Actually, that's not weird at all. When I'm stuck with a problem I usually start talking out loud to myself about it. Or to whatever object that has a person on it is closest to me lol. I even go so far as talking to people who know nothing about it because there is just something about saying it that puts it in perspective and allows me to solve whatever the problem was.

I also talk to someone (usually my friend anthony who knows near nothing about programming) to help me sort out some programming problem or I'll come to a realization when talking to them about it.  It's very helpful to talk it out or to yourself
