heard the white house got hit by this

So I guess it still is effective. From what I understand, the primary difference between "Spear" Phishing and Normal Phishing is the fake identity of the sender. With standard Phishing, the hacker will assume the identity of a big company, I guess like Blizzard or your bank. But with Spear phishing it's more personal, and the hacker will most likely have some information about who you are, who you work for etc. So they might pretend to be Steve from the Office or your boss. I wasn't even aware of this specific type of phishing before, so might be worth looking it up if you don't know about it already

Pretty much spot on. With normal phishing you are just trying to get a hold of any account. With spear phishing you target a spesific person or group of persons.

I'm sorry to necro this shit but this was so funny it made me LOL literally and then go necro a thread about it.

LAMP

Create your own server instead of using a free host ...

well since this thread was revived anyways seems to me like hosting an illegal phishing site on your own web server and trying to scam people seems like a good way to get caught...

The most vulnerable part of an impenetrable system is those who believe it to be so.

First of, this thread is really old by now and should perhaps be left alone. Its not a particularly good thread either.

Second, one would obviously not host something illegal on your own server unless you want to get caught. This is a given, illegal things are illegal.
