Most beautiful music for you
« on: September 22, 2012, 01:55:08 pm »
There is already a thread asking people what music they listen to. In this thread, I am asking you to name only one or maximum two most beautiful songs/music you know.

Hard to make a choice but here are two most beautiful songs for me:

Antonio Vivaldi - Winter (from Four Seasons)
Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms

Extremely different, but both are beautiful and unique in their own way.

Very difficult indeed, hard to make ultimate choices. I will copy your idea of naming one classical and one modern piece of art.

Verdi - Requiem - Dies irae
REM - Leaving new York

I am not sure if you intented that other people comment on each others videos, if so:

Vivaldi - Winter: Beautiful piece, yet overplayed. Not as much as Spring, but still I can not really hear it anymore.

Constructive and meaningful comments are always a good thing.
I agree with you that Vivaldi's Four Seasons are overplayed. It gets "old" when you hear it everywhere. I remember how I heard Spring in three movies in one week. So it is not something I would enjoy listening to daily. However, if you listened to any piece of music so many times, I guess you would get tired of it too. Having said all this, I still think it (and other parts of Four Seasons) is a one of the most beautiful symphonic pieces ever written. It is just that hearing it so much takes away a lot of excitement, not that it makes it any less beautiful.
