I've collected so much shit over these 4 years of University it's quite amazing... these Cisco guys really put more than a bunch of effort to make their stuff understandable, and I agree that their style of working is quite good. I'm actually quite capable with networking after passing those 7 modules both theoretically and with their skills exams, both in terms of setting up a network and in troubleshooting.

What sort of resources? I'm always on the lookout for something that helps a hands-on learner like myself. I've managed to aquire packettracer but I have yet to use it due to not having time to learn how at the moment.

Books, theory exams, practical exams (mostly for CCNP on these), various configurations, labs (they are the preparation for the skills exam; you get a topology + some stuff to do) and I've also worked with PacketTracer a bunch and also with actual Cisco devices so if you have questions I'm happy to assist.

if you have some problems to understand something while you are learning I would be more than glad to help you out. I am close to 8 years of experience with designing, building and troubleshooting networks. Haven't worked with cisco for quite some time (except for the ASA and Ironport) and maybe my knowledge is a bit rusty but I am sure I can help I think morph would do the same. So there is nothing to worry about
