Building a Supercomputer
« on: October 07, 2012, 07:16:27 am »
I plan to start building a supercomputer soon with the aid of a few people who are pretty new to the "real" world of computers. I'm not sure quite yet of what OS I want to run on it, however the technique I plan to use as far as the architecture of the supercomputer is Beowulf Clustering, however I don't have much knowledge on, except for what I can dig up on Google.

Does anybody here have any first-hand knowledge, or any other type of knowledge of supercomputers, Beowulf clustering or other (possibly easier) techniques, tips, resources, or any of the such?

I don't think I understand. You want to build the hardware for a super computer, or put together pre made hardware for it? And you have very little knowledge of super computers in the first place?
Sorry I can't help you here I have little knowledge of how to do either, but I think that either way this is a pointless project with how little of the subject your team seems to understand...

EDIT: My bad I understand what you are saying now, i should have looked up what the clustering technique you mentioned was before I said anything. I would think that your team would still have to understand the the "real world of computers" but I suppose that it would be far less complicated than I had thought. I still don't have enough knowledge to help you on this, but good luck and sorry for my initial response.
