Metasploit question
« on: October 26, 2012, 11:23:04 pm »
Hello

Nice to meet you. I'm new here and I'm also new to metasploit. I've been lurking the site for a week or two so I created an account to post. I'm just getting used to all the different commands and I must say it's a pretty usefull tool.  But I was wondering if I could use remote exploits from exploit-db.com that don't have metasploit as author. This is probably a pretty dumb  :o question but hey it never hurts to ask. I know you can create your own exploits on it but I don't have the know-how to do that yet.

thanks in advance

You've been lurking for over a week and you didn't see these:

http://evilzone.org/ebooks/metasploit-the-penetration-testers-guide/
http://evilzone.org/ebooks/e-book-gray-hat-hacking-the-ethical-hacker%27s-handbook-(3rd-edition)/

Nope I haven't downloaded any e-books. Guess I'll do that thanks.

Metasploit is great there's only one problem I don't really know what the exploits do. I mean i understand the basics of what it does but I wouldn't be able to run the exploit without the framework and that's a shame

Have a look here to find out how exploits work:
