I happened to "come across" an iBook G4 with the PowerPC processor in it, I've heard a lot of good things about the hardware in the iBook series. I used it on and off for a while to keep it updated and running and stuff, but then some dumbass decided to see exactly how "good" the hardware is by hitting it with a heavy metal object over the spot where the harddrive is (without my permission, obviously). So now the harddrive is useless, making the computer useless without a spare. I found where to buy the harddrive for one online for fairly cheap, but I want to know if it's worth it. If I were to get a clean harddrive for it, what are some of the things I could use the laptop for? I've heard of people running Fedora on them, or cracking a newer version of OS x for it, but is there anything else I could do to make it worth it?
