The best we have so far in wireless electricity transmission is that used in rfid. It takes too much energy to couple inductance over distances greater that a few meters. I have seen research about transmission via microwaves though. Pretty interesting.

I've dabbled with EEG. Nothing fancy, with the MindFlex from Mattel. It one of neuroSky's lesser chips. I can read a variety of wave spectrums though. The headset leaves the TX  line wide open, and is supper  simple to grab raw values. I have two write ups on it at my blog. Just look for the mindflex articles.

Awesome project, and a very interesting blog ;)

Thanks. I planned on using the MindFlex to blow things up with my mind. I was going to strap an electric fuse(model rocket igniter) to an M-80 or black powder, and when I my concentration levels peaked BOOM. But, alas, my sciatica became critical and am stuck laying in bed until I can afford to go to the doctor.

On a lighter note, gives me plenty of time for software endeavors.

Sure will. Don't know whether to blow up fruit or like a model car or something.

I thought. RFID was just passive scanning. Like, it sends out a pulse, which is received through the tag, and if signals match, is echoed back, kinda like sonar. Correct me if this is wrong. And on the electronics, look through instructables.com pretty good site for finding projects on almost anything!

RFID tags have no power source. They get power from the reader when it gets close enough. Then the id of the tag is checked, along with other data pending on what the tag is used for. No batteries or anything.

I also know there are some wireless phone chargers too. I've seen DIY wireless charging stations on hackaday.com.

On the topic of energy, they are developing systems that are powered by blood. They embed the device in your body and attach it to a vain. The blood flowing creates the power neeed  to run it.. Can you imagine a cellphone or pda inside your arm? I read this in an issue of wired magazine I think.

Kinda cool. The human body only has something like 20 volts, though, so im wondering how long it would take to charge. Sign me up for a 3G access point lol
