Anyone got a tutorial for making an edited OS Iso?
« on: April 26, 2011, 09:56:10 pm »
I remember there used to be a tutorial here back in the day that I think covers what I'm thinking.

Basically I want to be able to create a Windows 7 ISO file that:

Has a pre-configured wallpaper/theme colors.
Has a list of software pre-installed AND configured the way I want them to be
Possibly preactivated, but maybe not.

I use a lot of programs so it would be cool if I didn't have to reinstall them each time on each PC/Laptop I have.

I already have the iso.

The first tools I used for Windows customization are nLite (for XP) and vLite (for Vista/7) but vLite has little 7 support.

7Customizer is a newer program designed for 7. It can include updates, drivers, keys, etc.

Here's a guide to 7Customizer. You'll probably use WPI (Windows Post Install Wizard) for software. Ctrl+F for "WPI" and there's a post on the page related to post-installation.

If you need help... MSFN will have pretty much anything you could ever know about customizing any windows os. Also you can use me as a reference, simply pm me and I will let you know what I know. But yes I like WPI as well as 7customizer for winShit7
