Download Safe with utorrent ?

Hello a little while ago. My friend was caught for illegal downloading. he had to pay 30000 Swedish KR (4000-4500 US). So the question is i use utorrent and in Utorrent/Settings/Connections i have filled in a proxy but does it work ? is it safe ? and if not please tell me how i can download safe.   Thanks

What kinde of proxy are you using. If its not an anonymus proxy then its easey for you to get caught. And vpn are much better, but stay away from free vpn services, they will sell your data including your logs.
And search for utorrent anonymity addnos. there are plenty out there.

How the hell do people get caught? There must be millions of people download torrents. How can they single out a single person?


Does he download a lot of stuff? Or maybe it might just be not a lot of Swedish people downloading so it's easier to target them?

Its simple the government sits on a tracker logs and tracks down users by IP adress.
Its happening in germany aswell.

It's not the government that goes after you, and if you go through a local ISP they generally won't do anything either, it's the big corporations who own the copyright that will

when ISPs are badgered by Anti-Piracy outfits then send you a cease and desist order. If your ISP get's too many DMCA Takedown requests they will forward your information to local authorities unless they think you're part of something bigger and then build a case on you.

Stay away from hidemyass, they arent hiding your ass , they are giving it away it to ass fuckers. They will give away all of their logs including yours.

What ever you use. Go to sites like www.test.anonymity.com/
to test your anonymity. There are many other sites like this.
And even if your socket/proxy/vpn is keeping you anonymous, you should check their reviews, to be sure.

And search for anonymity tutoriales on EZ it will help.

Ok, this keeps saying I'm using a proxy when I'm not. It says my actual IP is the proxy's IP. Maybe they're not expecting people to test without a proxy, idk.
