Thrive - PC game
« on: March 11, 2013, 02:48:23 am »
A couple years back (2008) Maxis and EA released a game called spore. They promised a game and demoed a game which looked amazing and fun to play. EA said no, and made it into a 12 year olds fun land. There is still a community for the game today, that has released mods and such to help, but nothing has really been able to give us what we want. I just discovered this today, a game, free and open source, but still heavily in development, called Thrive. Basically takes the overall theme from Spore, and creates a game that people over 12 would love to play and actually enjoy. Not sure if this is this community's preferred genre,  but I'm quite excited and have already offered my help.

Exactly, I LOVED the concept of spore, and even the demo releases, but because of EA they butchered the final game and screwed up everything. I've already been in contact with the team manager over there. Says he would love the help, and the projects in C++.

Also at honoratu, I am sure they would love your help too, but I'm mentioning you because your give away of the day signature is offering me a free "Advanced Woman's Calender". I'm not even sure exactly what that was, and upon looking at it, I'm still not sure I want to know what it is. Just thought I'd mention that :P

I learned that in something we call "sexual knowledge"  here in Sweden, it's the calendar for when the woman is most fertile(meaning if see has a higher chance of getting pregnant) and when her "blood moon"  will come.

Wow, that actually sounds pretty exciting (never contributed to an actual project that people would actually use. Kudos, if the game releases, I will take great delight in telling people I know where the soundtrack came from :P
