Healthy Mindset?
« on: March 21, 2013, 03:33:27 am »
suggestion on the type of mindset I should have, I have the geek , hacker mindset, but I also need a mindset to help me with self improvement, like organization, and staying on task but still having time for computers, mostly because computers have been distracting me from my school work, and basically makes me a heavy procrastinator.

Dude, haven't you notice that we are full of everything? Please if you only like a sec forum go to a only sec forum :D. We are a community, with a guideline of security, computers, and hacking. Next to that we offer a broad range of other topics. If we'd had to talk about security 24/7 we would get bored.

Well I learned the hard way.
Everything ive ever chosen as a primary topic in my life thusfar, I chased to full extend.
With that comes a price.
I dreamt ,ate and practised my passion like nothing else mattered.
That was until I came to a grinding hold, you have no idea.

Dedication != obsession

When you are "succesful" in other things in life besides computing and hacking you can even apply that.
For example I sometimes think about hacking in a phyisics way, I see the packets flying before my eyes, altering, iterpreted etc.
This is not because im such an expert when it comes to hacking, coding or whatever but its because Ive learnt other things which are somehow backwards compatible :D

Enough said, I'd like you to read this:

This story has been floating over the webs for years and exists in many forms.
But for anyone who doesnt know this, I highly recommend it.

Try doing school work using computers, you know, research and all. And keep a to do list and try strictly following that list.

As for mindeset, im not sure but my mom took away my pc when my pc time went out of control.

Perhaps the problem is that your probably trying to remember all the things you need to do from memory. Doing this just clutters your mind and is not a good idea if you wanna get things done.

Make a list of thing that you need to do and list them based on priority. Continue to add and remove tasks from the list as you finish them and as new tasks come along. That way you don't have to  worry about forgetting something, because you can simply just check the list for what need to be done.

i know sounds old school but trust me, this is a great way to keep your shit together
