There are phone call recording apps out there but they all use the speaker. I'm looking for an app that records the actual received voice. Despite the legality issue (about which I've already found research) Is there something like this out there?

Since you didn't mention the phone model or a system, I'll use it's an android.

There are apps that record from the line and I used few, but all of them require root. If you have Cyanogenmod or similar to Wildfire phone, then I would suggest rVoix (been posted here: http://evilzone.org/android/rvoix-the-call-recorder/) and recently I've been using "Total Recall" (available cracked somewhere) on my S2, which IMO was a crap software - ugly interface, weird controls, no turn exit option, so once turned on can only be turned off by terminating the process.

Also moved to Mobile hacking section.

Just tried noob's Virtual Secretary and it works really well. It couldn't play the first call though (out of 3 phone calls I made) so it might be glitchy. but the other 2 were recorded just fine, both sides could be heard perfectly. Doesn't need root either.
Will try Kulverstakus' suggestions soon and post the results.
