Never heard about it. Looked at their website and seems similar.
Fluxbox is nice and simple. You can configure panels (my taskbar, for example) and the menu. You can also configure every key shortcut you could ever want. I was looking for a very lightweight window manager and after seeing some screenshots I chose flux.

Heres two diff backgrounds from my Debian VM. I downloaded a theme to set the windows darker, then the bottom terminal is running IRSSI with a custom theme which colors the chat. Background is one i found online. I downloaded a ton of diff stuff though and am planning on putting together a few different color schemes, next one will be green, then some reds perhaps. IDK, we'll see. I'll post them when I get them done :)

On a side note, if your running Arch and are a 1337 bastard like lucid despite knowledge, you need irssi. Not a slam, lucid IS 1337 in my eyes, Linux knowledge and drive alone he deserves a lot of credit.

I don't have any icons, because this is openbox and I use shortcut keys to open up most used programs, and also can get a menu by a rightclick.

I love those Xeon servers but I can't stand how loud the fans are. Yours probably sounds like a turbine right?

I've sorta taken inspiration from that image. I also haven't edited the awesome bar at all--except for the names of the ttys or whatever, and I changed the awesome icon to a dark tux icon. To be honest editing the awesome bar seems daunting...

ArchBang cause the install is a bit quicker since I re-installed a few times trying to get the Windows partition working and was too lazy to move around partitions. 2. Slack is definitely worth the experience. It isn't prone to breaking like arch, the install is simple as fuck, and overall it's relatively easy without taking away from the "behind the scenes" like Ubuntu does. However, I do really miss rolling release, as well as auto-dependency resolution with pacman--although compiling everything yourself isn't as big of a hassle as people make it sound--plus I also have a love for a bare system so I can install everything myself(Slack 14 has 7.3 gb preinstalled). Which is why I know for sure that I'm going to go back to Arch at some point, once I feel I've gained more linux/unix experience using slackware.
3. Never tried Archbang. Felt like cheating. Not that I'm judging mind you..

2. I'll probably give it a go when I get a new computer. Since using pacman, I feel every package manager should move to something similar. Also, the rolling releases are a huge plus. The only time Arch ever broke on me is when they updated fs structure.
3. For people new to Arch I agree it's kinda cheating. But I can't count how many times I've installed plain arch, even just to really understand linux more and all. So moving to ArchBang for me is more like buying a bicycle instead of all the parts and building one by hand.
Even with ArchBang there are a lot of post install stuff to do.
Indeed pacman is one of the few package managers I really like, its KISS and especially compared to aptitude for example.Slackware is even more KISS as far as package management goes. Don't get me wrong I definitely love pacman ;)

I recently started to learn Arch, and I'm excited about Manjaro linux. The desktop is clean, and even comes with a cool custom conkyrc. I like Arch's tools for configuration(systemctl, netctl, etc.). Once you learn where everything is it's a breeze to use. I don't like making startup scripts for Arch, I still like Debian's format.
