I estimate this dude has about $12,000 worth of apple shit in his room. It's fucking ridiculous.

It's gotta be more than that, 12,000 would only pay for two iMacs
-
He is so full of himself.
I only watched 20 seconds before I started getting pissed.
What a moron.
-
At first I thought you said mormon...
-
Lets not judge the guy.
He's got the money so why the hell not get 20k worth of apple shit.
It works for him, makes him happy, lets him do everything he needs to do. And thats good. Whatever floats his boat.
It makes me angry when people judge others by just watching a damn video.

Whatever man, he's an apple fanboy and a tech guy... those two statements does not compute on the same line, man.
-
I guess to be fair he's not a TOTAL fanboy since he doesn't like iOS
-

Why not?
Have you even used a new generation mac for a considerable amount of time?
A mac can be used for pretty much anything, and are very stable for home use (and thats where he uses them). Name one single reason how having a linux or windows setup instead of that mac setup would make his computer life easier (besides cost)?
And no, I am not a mac/apple fanboy. At this time I don't own any apple products. I am a linux/windows fan boy.

The problem is more of his shovenistic atitude feeling the need to post all his crap on youtube. He's just bragging about his exspensive setup.

^^This. It's like when you see that douche bag with a nice car trying to rub it in everyones face, always talking about how much money they make, and all the things they own. The kind of people in this video are the ones that wanna make everyone envy them. I know a lot of these kind of people. And the guy in the video claiming to be a tech guy I bet he can't run a dns flush or know how to read a trace route, hell I bet he can't subnet a subnet or explain even how the CPU stacks data in RAM.
He is running matrix screen savers which is a fail. I know the Matrix movies are epic, but every hipster that claims or wants to be a tech guy or hacker automaticly reverts back to that film. And then he has a video for every device/equipment that he has (all apple BTW), that tells me, "Hey look at all my shit, wish you had it eh?".
All in all, Apple is nothing but market, not tech. If they where tech Woz would still be apart of it and their "devices" could compete with better lower priced things (Snap Dragon anyone?).
-
+1 techb
Couldn't have said it better myself. If I had the time I would have said pretty much the same thing. It's fine to be an Apple fanboy, no worries. People are going to like the devices they like. But this dude ("I just can't live without my 6 Apple screens") is just one of those people that are like "look at all this overly priced shit I own".
I'm also not saying that Apple products are bad, but they are sure as hell not innovative. For example, one of Apple's latest patents:
Back in 2009, Google filed a patent for Android’s “notification bar,” a feature that Apple wouldn’t figure out how to implement into iOS for another couple of years. Here we are almost four years after that patent was filed and Apple has decided that its “notification center” is worthy of its own.
Android’s “notification bar” allows users to manage incoming messages, Tweets, calendar appointments, alarms, and emails, to name a select few. It’s evolved over time, but back in 2009, it was accessed just as it is today, with a simple swipe down from the top of the phone. Users are also notified of new notifications through this bar as they come in.
Apple’s “notification center” acts much the same. As notifications arrive, the top of the phone notifies the person, which can then tap on those notifications or swipe down from the top of the phone to access the entire “center.” Apple has tried to beef up their “center” by including widgets in it, something Android has no need for as the operating system allows widgets in a variety of other places.
There is no telling if Apple will attempt to use this patent in future lawsuits, but I can’t imagine it doing much good, especially after having filed for it years after Google attempted to patent a similar technology. On a positive note, this is one of the few times we have seen Apple show up late to the party on the patent front.
SOOOO innovative. Take something Androids done since the G1 on Android 1.5 Cupcake and say its new innovative technology. The products would actually be good if 1. They dropped the price and 2. Stop presenting themselves in a way that tries to block innovation. They need to get over the fact that Microsoft made it bigger than them, and then Google comes in with Android Linux and makes them the new last place OS used by the world. Linux>Windows>Mac Haters gonna hate.

I bet if Woz stayed though, it'd be different than it is
Steve Jobs knew how to mix things together, make it look prettier than it actually is and make people think they need it because there's nothing else out there

Yes well since Steve Jobs died did you see their launch iPhone 5 ad? iPhone, the biggest thing since the iPhone. I mean really? How lame. The iSheep ate that shit up though. Wozniak was a rare genius and did the bulk of Apples innovating. However you will see the great Wozniak rocking an Android because he knows just how bad iOS is compared to Android. But then if you think about it, Android has been the more of a "tech guys" phone and that's what Wozniak is. The iPhones excel in being pretty and simplistic (just like all of their devices). It's great to get grandma on video chat because of how easy it is for them to work. It's also great for all those dumb bimbos because they aren't just tech illiterate, but just plain illiterate in general and the shiny interface and look attracts the whores. Apple is a recipe company, they take others great innovations, patent it, rearrange shit around in a pretty simplistic interface, lock it down, and feed the sheep.
-
Ok I see what you mean guys.
He might be showing off, yes.
Oh and BTW, just because a company such as apple is overrated and likes to steal innovation, does not make its products bad. Stealing innovations and claiming to be the most innovative company might be morally wrong, but that does not make the company products bad. I have used a friends macbook pro that is 6 years old but is more stable and responsive then mine year old laptop with slightly better specs. So calling the products that immoral company makes bad is not exactly logical. I don't have a problem when people hate on the company, but I do have a problem when they start hating on the products, because there is nothing wrong with them, as far as an average user is concerned, and average users are the big majority.
So often people compare products from a tech user perspective, when that does not make sense for the average user.
Its kind of hard to express what I mean, but judging from the discussions about apple that I have seen around the net, I realized that many people are just misinformed. Most have not even used a mac for a considerable amount of time to understand it, and hence just judge the product based on the facts about the company. That should never be the case, because first of all all companies in the world have their dark secrets, and some are just better at keeping them that way then others.
BTW, I am still waiting for that one single reason why an average user (or even that guy who works as a virtualization architect by the way) should NOT use a mac and use windows or linux instead. One good reason.

http://wanderingstan.com/2009-12-11/65-reasons-mac-sucks (http://wanderingstan.com/2009-12-11/65-reasons-mac-sucks)
And a few not so complete lists...
http://domainnamewire.com/2009/03/30/5-reasons-to-not-buy-a-mac/ (http://domainnamewire.com/2009/03/30/5-reasons-to-not-buy-a-mac/)

To quote Angry Steve:
I get the distinct impression the mac is like that stunning blonde... Lovely to look at, you might even stick your dick in her, but otherwise, utterly useless, and not worth spending any quality time with.
But ultimately, you do have people trying to justify their extra money spent on looks and a brand name like skidiot said, or people who haven't encountered these issues yet and so pass them off as more people just making shite up to bash on Apple. Theres no convincing people who have their mind made up that Apple is worth it, so I've given up trying lol.
@skidiot
excellent points and well written

Wow, this is a circlejerk of epic proportions.
Now I'm starting to feel like I'm some sort of inbred moron for using the Touch 5, which is I'm sure what you guys would say. However, it does exactly what I need it to. Easily and conveniently.
Not everyone out there is a tech enthusiast like we are, people. Chill out. No normal computer user wants to go through the hassle of configuring and keeping up with Linux. And some people just don't like Windows and Android. That's their choice, their problem. Deal with it and move on with your lives.
None of us here like Apple. We get that. And yet somehow you guys are arguing with each other trying to convince each other that Apple is bad when you all already believe that.

If your not a tech enthusiast, then wtf are you doing on this site? Can you not read the logo at the top? Quality and quantity, not easily and conveniently. Ease of use and convenient access doesn't excuse a whole host of other problems, why do you think we put up with having to configure Linux? You think we like spending half of our day making it work properly instead of tossing back beers and fapping to pr0n? Well, sometimes :P
But honestly, I wish just as much as the next guy that linux worked easily and conveniently, but it doesnt. However, by taking the time to configure it properly I get a shit ton more out of it than I do from apple or windows. So what am I saying? Don't settle.
Why settle for the 4 when you can try and get the 8? Same applies to computers.
No normal computer user wants to go through the hassle of configuring and keeping up with Linux. And some people just don't like Windows and Android. That's their choice, their problem. Deal with it and move on with your lives.
Where in this entire topic did we interrupt someones life, or insult them for liking apple as you have insulted us for disliking them? We have insulted apple, but not their users excluding the original topic who the post was made to make fun of. namespace7 defends apple and their products, and yet he still managed to avoid insulting us for disliking them. So why don't you chill out, accept that Apple blows and we don't like it, and move on with YOUR life.

Mac versus PC discussion is like Pirate versus Ninja discussion - full of skeptics that defend one over the other with never ending arguments.

I'll concede that I probably should have left the "circlejerk" part of it out, but this thread honestly has become that.
You're making a lot of weird assumptions off my post. I also never insulted you guys, outside of the circlejerk statement which I just addressed.
Where did I ever say I'm not a tech enthusiast? I said not everyone out there is a tech enthusiast, like WE are. "We" includes me. I'm a CoSci student in Uni, been into programming, security, etc since I was young.
I'll clarify, since you hopped on me about the "easily and conveniently" thing. I use my iPod for email, GPS, calendar, music, social media, pictures and video, games to keep me occupied in between classes. It does all this great, does what I need it to do. I don't need my 4" iPod to break into Wifi networks, do programming, etc. You launched right into talking about Linux, so you basically compared Linux, a full-blown desktop OS, to my iPod as far as functionality. Cool lol. Nowhere did I say that my iPod is more functional than Linux.
Ease of use and convenient access doesn't excuse a whole host of other problems, why do you think we put up with having to configure Linux?
What "whole host of other problems" does the ease and convenience of my iPod open up? Just curious.
Also, yes, you guys have been indirectly insulting people who use Apple products this entire thread. I'll point out the more direct "dumb bimbos" statement as well.
-

Let's not bring up Mac versus PC discussion ever again, because it gives nothing but raging discussion where one or the other gets insulted one way or another...

dumb bimbos use mac...
But it's true though... :P

@Lykos
You obviously didn't read my posts in this thread, but I guess that's what happens when you're an Apple product user, you get into this mode where nothing compares to your beloved brick. I can do EVERYTHING AND MORE than any Apple device can do, cheaper, and more effective on different devices such as my Android phone/tablet. btw that's not an opinion, that's a FACT.

God i hate apple fan boys. Over priced garbage with 0 innovation. Proprietary, constantly hacked with all your info going to the ev0l ppl, who then use your stolen data to rob you blind while apple acts like they havent been breached. grrr....I mean i get it their marketing was superb! but NOTHING else about them has even a shred of intelligence. just before the ipod came out their PC manufacturing side damn near had bankrupted them. but hey ipod/itunes saves the day!
so do they drop the consistently in the red PC division? nope! let it sap us dry...oh god we are soooo fucked again...uhhh let them use windows on it! yay were not AS deep in the red! uhhh still kinda screwed....iphone! yay we STILL barley break even on PCs.
Their computer side has been dragging them to their grave for well over a decade and yet they still havent figured out to just let it go. when their hardware specs could at least compete it was one thing, but they are no longer just behind the curve, they are stuck in traffic 10 miles back. between their business policies, second rate gear, and insane prices i just want to go all staby at "tech" guys who think apple is the greatest thing on the planet.
pft why did you bump this now im in murder mode. and i havent even ACTUALLY vented. if i was gonna do that id fucking enumerate it and make a god damn power point entitled "why my head exploded in a fit of nerd rage"

I've come to the realization that people don't fully read the sentiments that I posted on this thread. I realize my attitude towards apple will always be the same and I know that they do have good devices. Its the attitude of the company and the users that get on my nerves. I don't understand why Apple users have the need to say their device is better when they don't even understand the devices its self. They don't know a single difference between a CPU and a LCD screen. They can't even state what a Retina display is, however "its better". Albeit that may be true for some displays they don't understand why it's better, they were just fed that it's better.
When I first became an Android user it seemed like the first time I dabbled in Linux and I got excited. I started telling everyone that they needed to get an Android and to fuck their iShit, yes I was an Android fanboy, just as bad as any Apple fanboy. However over time I realized that Android comes easy for me, I'm used to configuration, modding, and hacking, however not everybody has that same passion for technology like I do. Is Android more innovative, yes, that's a fact but it doesn't mean that Apple isn't. Apple can take a brick, polish it up and it becomes a beautiful device that has people clamoring. Is there a problem with that? Absolutely not. Apples are made for the general public, a device that just works with few to no problems, why? Extensive testing and development and quality assurance. They release 1 device a year that the software speaks wonderfully with the hardware which makes for less powerful specs, but a more smooth user experience. It also helps with OS fragmentation, for example Google keeps throwing in new shit that Android devices 2 years ago could never use. They have a severe OS fragmentation issue. I remember when froyo was coming out, I had flash on my android phone while people were still rocking 1.5-1.6 Android. Some devices are still 2.3 (Gingerbread) and Honeycomb (3.0) was like the Vista of Android. ICS and JB are getting there but there are still devices on gingerbread that can't support ICS or JB. But do you see the issue, the people on gingerbread get stuck behind the curve, if they were on Apple, they wouldn't be. They get to use the latest features.
In the end, your device whether it be Android or Apple will depend on the type of person you are. If you're not tech inclined there's pretty much no choice but to get an Apple, an Android will be confusing and hard to use. Even if you are tech inclined, you may like things to be smooth and constantly working without having to configure it. How many tech guys use Windows over Linux because it's easier? Sure they may be dual booted with Linux, or have a laptop with Linux, but shit there's no denying the fact that Windows is easier then Linux. But then you have that group, that group where making your devices personal is required. If you can't mod it the way you want your device to be, look, and act, why would you want it? That is the place where Android really speaks, the ability to change every part of your device down to the kernel, that's the true reason Android trumps Apple. BUT if you don't have the knowledge, ability, or capacity to learn to do that on Android, then obviously it's not for you. There is no absolute "This one is better than that one" just "This one is better for me than that one"
That's where the problems arise, one is simply not just better than the other, its user opinion. Sure specs may seem better but that's not the only factor in deciding superiority. There are several factors that depend on people, not the device.

Not saying Macs are bad or anything but I would prefer a Windows/Linux box anyday over a Mac. According to the people, apple is an "innovator". They get credit for touchscreens and mp3 players. Mp3 players have been around years before Apple came out with the IPOD and so have touchscreens. I remember carding 3 sony mp3 player pen/sticks in 1998 which had 32mb of RAM lol. It really pisses me off when people think Ipods and Apple made the first mp3 players. They just came out with it at the right time and marketed the product real well to the 'average' consumer. Sure apple added their knowledge and research to their devices as much as stealing ideas, but the main reason Apple is famous is because of their Marketing Strategy. Part of their strategy is make innovative products - Iphone..probably the slimmest touch screen phone there was when it first came out..that's because Steve Jobs took the prototypes and threw them in a fish tank and said if any bubbles come out, it means there's too much empty space -- my professor for one of my Masters IS classes told us the story. Sure apple is good for Art students, and a requirement for art majors in the college i graduated from. Basically taking risks and having a marketing team convince people they need devices that they don't really need is their expertise -- . "Plus their 'easy to use' OS." Everytime i see someone with an iphone i assume that they don't know much about IT -- but that's just my opinion and I am being too judgmental but I hate iphones. One thing Apple did right is make their phones very smooth in transitioning - something my S3 is not very capable of, even with a 'fast' rom.
That being said, I do not think an Apple is a 'Tech guys' platform. I believe that the phones are too locked and Itunes is retarded. Android gives more freedom and therefor more 'techy' because we like to tinker with things. Sure you can jailbreak an iphone but I would still prefer an android. I still want a macbook for browsing the web and what not, but I wouldn't do anything serious on it - I think I am just attracted to their display.
And as far is this Apple Fanboi dude, he's lucky he can afford all that shit. If it were me I would've chose a variety of devices such as oranges vs apples, but to each his own. I didn't even watch the video to be honest. lol

Microsoft stole from apple, apple stole from xerox, xerox stole from somebody else probable, Apple stole from microsoft, and i stole from apple. It's all about marketing, Bill gates was better at stealing things and marketing than he was in programming. Steve was better in designing product people want to buy for a shitload of money (and using lsd) than he was in programming/developing.

I remember seeing a video where they said and explained, how apple took two great products, combined them, and then sued the creator(s) of the two latter ideas. Will try to find it when I'm home in two hours.

ALL PRAISE THE NECROMANCER!!!
how so?
anyway yeah, everyone jacked from everyone else and that's how we ended up where we are...started from garages ended up as multimillionaire corporations.
or billionaire lol
-
faction no one stole from xerox, they invented the modern PC....then gave it away, because their board of directors thought their was no money in it....lol. Anyway yeah honestly looking at a "who is more evil" between MS vs Apple i have to go with Apple, MS stole the GUI, then took some ideas from linux, which hey its open source...Apple on the other hand, and this is a brief list to give a general idea: Stole ideas then to add to the joy SUED the creators, markets old ideas as if they are the first to do them, has shit security then blames all fraudulent charges on the end user and not on them being hacked(again), proprietary, sue happy enough to make its employees commit suicide over loosing a prototype... seriously this list goes on for pages. Not saying MS hasnt pulled some BS in its day(couch xbox one), but when looking at an over all picture...not even close. Hell even comparing the two CEO's Bill has been doing more charitable work by FAR over Steve, as people and as companys i know whos products i would rather support.(for the record Black Mesa)
