Are there any tunneling software for linux out there? Have just moved to Ubuntu and need to bypass school filtering system. I could setup an SSH connection to my home wi-fi router but that'd require changing the default router firmware and I'm too lazy for that! :P
What would linux junkies do if they were back in high school?
-
VPN tunnel.
Proxychains.
ssh -D
-
Where to get proxies for proxychains, VPN for VPN tunnel?
-
google.
-
But they're not stable.
-
Free does not always mean stable. Im sure you can pay for a VPN and have a stable one, but otherwise you can't do much.
-
with Hotspot shield and Ultrasurf on Windows you can do much.
They're still commercial programs and make money off ads.
-
that depend on what you want, 7$ a month for a vpn is not much money if you care about speed and anonymity
-
For an a 18 year old who makes no money, it's a lot! :)

do you smoke, drink or have other pleasures?

do you smoke, drink or have other pleasures?
lol what does that have to do with anything?
-
lol what does that have to do with anything?
because if you can find money for other pleasure you can make it for a vpn as well, its all about what you prioritize. maybe YOU don't think that 7$ is worth for a vpn, but you can't say its expensive. maybe it should cost less or be totally free but its still not expensive for the once who really wants it

I don't make money at all. Zilch. Not even a penny. I'm the kid who lives in the streets with his computer and uses McDonald's free wi-fi. If I drink it's always friends buying.
Are there any free solutions?

if your not picky where you live or to have a job, how can you be picky about a VPN?

People have preferences! :)
Get a job?
Will do after I graduate. Plus I'm pretty happy with my life currently, don't really need a job right now. ;D

So does this all mean there's no free proxy solution for linux?

lol. I do have friends, there are people who like me too. I'm just not the richest person in the world and it's a mean joke to associate that with life and happiness.

yeah I'm just messing with you :P
being poor sucks but I don't think this is a problem that's going to be solved for free unfortunately :(

seriously first of there are a lot of free vpn on Google use it as a first solution you might actually find something you like.
second don't bitch about not having money and a job to pay 7 fucking dollars for a good vpn if you are happy with your life.
also if your happy with your life and don't even 7 dollars then you don't have high standards I'm sure you find one on Google for you.
don't ask us to search on Google for you because that's just lazy.
and how can you be happy with your life if your living on the street?
seriously if you find getting a free vpn your preference over finding a job I think you should do some thinking.
and no money does not equal happiness but it helps sometimes and im not talking about money to buy a car or new computer. I'm talking about it must really be hard to live a life where you don't have 7$ to spent on something you want or as you say it "your preferences"
I'm not trying to sound like a dick though some might think so...

Like I said, they're not stable. Hence this topic.

This "bitching about"... I didn't do that. I just don't have money for vpn that's all.
Also if your happy with your life and don't even 7 dollars then you don't have high standards I'm sure you find one on Google for you.
I don't have high life preferences but I do have high tech preferences.
don't ask us to search on Google for you because that's just lazy.
I didn't. I googled myself but the ones I found aren't stable. Hence the topic.

It's really not hard. It's regular life to me. I've got a computer that's all I need :)
I'm not trying to sound like a dick though some might think so..
sure you're not, I understand. But my question still remains unanswered: how to find free, stable proxies?
By the way your username is really ironic, just saying :D

Privateinternetaccess or Mullvad are my top favorites.
Both allow bitcoin purchasing and are cross-OS compatible.
