I recently saw The Mist and it was pretty awesome.

Hacking and Security / Re: Ok so here is the Deal

Guess what, you live with them. Chances are they bought you your ps3, your computer, the Netflix subscription, and pay the internet and electricity bills. So shut the fuck up and deal with it. Plus, like vezzy said, if your dad actually knows anything about networks, he won't believe your bullshit for a second. Hacking is not about abusing the people that love you and provide for you you little turd.

General discussion / Re: What's your favourite book
« on: December 31, 2013, 01:07:13 am »
Some great books/series:

Nonfiction: (you might like these two Phage)
-Lone Survivor (inspired me to get on the career path I am on now)
-American Sniper (Chris Kyle unfortunately was shot on a gun range by a mentally unstable guy a while back, very tragic)

Fiction:
-The Transall Saga
-The Lord of the Rings
-A Song of Ice and Fire novels (Game of Thrones if you watch the show)
-The Conqueror's Trilogy
-The Lost Fleet Series (fucking awesome portrayal of space warfare)

Well, how much do you trust your "untraceable method" of calling? Shit like this is very serious, and people that pull pranks like this are massive douchebags.

Interesting read, not surprised though, it's a macberk. We had a discussion about it here.
Oh I must have missed that discussion, thanks.

Found it on the Webs / Activation of laptop webcams without indicator light
« on: December 27, 2013, 08:07:00 pm »
I though this was an interesting read, I usually keep some tape over mine anyway, because it is so easy to do and I rarely use my webcam.

What do you guys think? I have heard that most built in webcams are not able to have this done because the light is hardwired into the circuit that the cam is on, but it sounds like there are some that don't have this.

I had an awesome year, I finally joined the Army, and am on the track to doing my dream job. So 2014 will be a continuation of that. Unfortunately it means I don't have a lot of computer time, but I think it will be worth it. I will still try to work on that stuff though, and try to stay on here as much as possible.

General discussion / Re: Good Quality Pre DVD Torrenting?
« on: December 10, 2013, 08:25:27 pm »
Sometimes you get lucky and someone puts out a full quality version before it actually comes out in stores, but it is pretty hit and miss. One thing that I should mention is that sometimes movies come out on iTunes a week or two before their actual DVD release, and you can find them then.

General discussion / Re: Alternative Email Recommendations
« on: December 03, 2013, 05:54:19 am »

And you trust Microsoft more? I'd suggest using an e-mail service like the ones above for your everyday crap mail service. I really don't trust any "cloud" mail provider and expect anything to be public in my mail box :(

Can you read? I said I am trying to leave Hotmail. I have had this hotmail account since I was like, a little kid, so most of my shit goes to it, but I am trying to switch.

Yeah I have been looking for a new email service too, I use Hotmail and it blows. I didn't want to switch to gmail because I don't trust Google, and haven't for a long time. And then Yahoo had some big security issues recently, so that crossed them off of my list.

Hardware / Re: Newegg alternatives
« on: November 22, 2013, 06:28:34 am »
I have an Asus and so do my parents and both have been great. Mine is an Eee Pc, my parent's is a full size laptop, I don't remember what model. I have run several versions of linux on mine because the bullshit Windows 7 neutered version that came with it was lame and still ran slow on it.
