General discussion / Re: What Inspired You?
« on: December 10, 2015, 05:46:05 pm »
When I was 8 years old, my father introduced me to electricity. He taught me a lot about it. That was the time where I got general interest in technology. Additionally, I was (and still am) addicted to video games. I played them whenever I could. But I had to play on my sisters Laptop, because I didn't own a computer. She was annoyed by that and put a password on it. I asked Google about ways to bypass it and even found one.

I was so statisfied by this super 1337 hack that I got more interest in hacking and computers in general.

Well, and now I'm here. Still a stupid skid that tries to learn more and more about it.

C - C++ / Re: 'char' rather than 'int' causing double loop
« on: December 10, 2015, 05:24:03 pm »
Why then is it looping when I reach 10? Memory issue? Random Glitch?

Because the char variable handles numbers as characters and not as numbers. The char variable can store exactly one byte, and a character also takes one byte.
The problem is, if you type the number 10, two characters are used. But the char variable has not enough space to store both of them. In this case the char variable would get the character 1. The 0 is just being written to the memory adress that comes after it. No matter what is stored there. (As far as I know. Please flame me if I'm wrong).

For some reason (I have no exact idea why .  .  .) that causes this looping glitch. Just use the int variable and you should be fine (As long as you don't use numbers that are bigger than 2147483647 because that would cause the same issue :P)

And, as Archfox already said, you should stick to one style. That makes the code easier to read.

"Linkin" because I've been hearing to Linkin Park while choosing my name and "Cube" because I love speedcubing (But I'm bad at it lol  ::) (Best time is 50.53 seconds for the 3x3 cube))

the light can be dimmed to give no visible light, however the electronics can still read it.
Lol I've overheard that somehow ;D

As far as putting it in your pocket, this goes against the whole security portion. Wherever the light goes is what can get it, which means no high powered antennas Hacking your network that's not under their light
Yes you are also right with that point. But I don't think that an average user would like to pay that price for more security. And, as I already said, this technology could be used in companies where more sensitive data is being transferred and every device has a fixed place. (So you can't hide it in a pocket or something like that anyway...)

I don't think this will replace home Wi-Fi. Maybe it will, but I don't think so... We'll see

I've heard of that... Seems cool...

But how can you upload data from your device to the internet? Point with your phones flashlight to a receiver?
And what happens if you put your phone into your pocket while downloading something? Or if you work with your computer in the dark sometimes because you're so 1337? Or if you simply are in a different room?

Li-Fi could (and most likely will) be very useful in some special cases, and could maybe replace NFC on phones, but I highly doubt that it will ever be able to replace our everydays Wi-Fi.

But damn, this is still awesome.

that bright white light should be discharging the battery quite fast.
I don't think that it will make a difference. The monitor won't take more energy if you remove the polarized film .  .  .
