"They" make phones for "penetration testing" however it tends to be minor stuff like wifi and blue tooth hacks. It usually comes down to processing power or the lack there of. If you look hard enough Android has some interesting downloads.

Hacking and Security / Re: What do you guys think about using telnet

If you wanna be a badass, you can IRC via Telnet. I used to do it when I worked at SubWay.

You told me this a while back and it changed my life... well not quiet. BUT IS AWESOME!
+ 1 for happy memories.

Personal preference: I got puppy linux on a USB to build my own.

Or if you want documentation: http://lifehacker.com/5680453/build-a-killer-customized-arch-linux-installation-and-learn-all-about-linux-in-the-process

I would have enjoyed this a few years back...

Well, I interned at a security company with some some ex secret service fellows who are currently making safe houses for human trafficking. Part of that included a group of people who kidnap these young girls (read:9-13) back from the pimps and  gangs and bring them to these safe houses being built. This happens on two fronts: Europe and here in America. You tend to make a lot of enemies(read: local, Mexican, and Serbian.) when you steal a source of money so all phone calls, email, networking sites were a big no no for a while.

Completly unrelated, I went down to Austin and did some work for a production company there who creates some cool vids. (If you guess who they are you win the internet.) They had me sign a paper that also kept me off networking and the phone for a couple weeks.

... I became involved with a place that monitored my web usage and had to only visit sites that seemed "Kosher". It's all a bit complicated. I do come back with more skills though  ;)
