Learning my way into the world of Hacking :-)
« on: May 22, 2013, 08:27:58 pm »
Greetings all experts...

Can you please guide me where I should start to begin my journey into the world of Hacking...

After reading many forums and pages.. this is what is my Plan-

1. Learn Phyton
2. Learn Linux Scripting
3. Learn HTML

My understanding of computer is very basic and i am planning to give a live Linux OS parallel to my windows 7..

Is the above approach correct ? or what should I do

Thanks

Have you checked out this forum? I don't think so because if you had you couldn't have skipped my tutorial called "Where to start with hacking". Please use the search button before asking questions..

As for learning Python it's a great start I see no problems in that and you will find lots of support on it too. As for learning HTML why even bother? There's not much to learn have a reference sheet and you will be good to go. Also it's "syntax" are so easy that you will have "learned" the basics after one day.

Well since you apparently wasn't able to find my tutorial I will do you the honor of linking to it here.

you probably should make an introductory post in the correct sub-forum. however, it doesn't seem you would have much to say. also, HTML... isn't even really a language to learn, in my opinion. It's a markup language. as far as sites go... in the modern world, PHP and SQL are the main bulk of a standard site. HTML is more of a front end structure. CSS is just facepaint. Javascript, is the nervous system, and many sites utilise it in some way. but yes, if you really want to go far, follow the pinned guides here, and learn and practice your google-fu.

True. There is no path to becoming a "hacker" because you have to make the path yourself according to your own definition of "hacker" and your own visions, plans and goals.

Therefore a crucial step to becoming a better programmer is learning how to avoid getting stuck, to recognize when you’re stuck, and to get unstuck." -Jeff Wofford

In our definations, hackers dont generally learn to hack, they hack to learn.

Also hacking in the movies are lame. Most of the time (hackers + apple shit, really?)

That could include alot if not 90% of all of us here.
OR did you mean to link it to any newbies.
If you can't explain it to a 6 year old, you don't understand it yourself.
