Evilzone Chess Tournament?
« on: May 27, 2013, 11:24:26 pm »
Hey.
I got this idea from a game I play on.

We should have an EZ Chess Tournament!

I don't know how to set anything up, so basically i'm just throwing this idea out there for those who have an idea.

Thanks!

I think that's a great idea. we could use http://multiplayerchess.com/.Maybe create a special thread for the matchups so everybody knows who they're gonna play and setup the match at a time convenient for both of em.What do y'all think?? ;D ;D

Do you think we'd need any more info than that?

We should get a list of participants first. Then maybe create a quick program to randomly choose the pairings and then each pair can come up with a time they will be free to play.

Also, will it be one match or best out of three? And what about time controls? I suggest either 10 mins or 15 mins.

If we do best out of three then each match would be 10/15 mins and if player A wins the first match and player B wins the second and the third is a draw then we could have a 1 minute sudden death match to determine the winner.

I'd be up for this.  I'd also be willing to whip up the program for the name picking.

Yes, this is a double post but I just want to see if anyone else would like to participate.

Also, here is a game of mine I played on ChessCube. I made the mistake of getting skewered by the bishop on my queen and rook and from then on I was on the defensive but a good defense is offense.

I'd like to take part in this tournament. Hope we can hit magical number 8. But honestly it would be great if there is 16 :)

Yes, 16 would be amazing :P We just need one more player to make the 8. Then we can make the pairings and play :)

Woot 8 Players!

I used this site to generate the pairings:

http://challonge.com/tournament/bracket_generator

Match 1
DeXtreme VS Raavgo

Match 2
z3ro VS Lupus

Match 3
jeremy78 VS Code.Illusionist

Match 4
Zesh VS Nerotic7

Each match will be a best out of 3. Each game will be a 10 minute game. If it's a tie after the 3 games, the players will play a 1 minute game. The winner will go through and if the 1 minute game is a tie, the players will continue playing 1 minute games until one player wins.

The games will be played over at ChessCube. Once you've signed up for ChessCube, post your ChessCube username and wait till your opponent post theirs. At which point it is up to the players to come up with a time they can play each other at. Once at time has been agreed upon, post it here so other players can hop on at the time and spectate the match. Games played on ChessCube can be shared so other can take a look at the game. Be sure to share the links to the games after they've been played for others to see.

So, let's get started! My ChessCube username is Zesh26.

I'd like the OP or and admin to add the above information into the first post. Thank you.
