This article initially annoyed me, then upset me, then pissed me off, and then made me rage.

In that order.

CYBERWAR IN AFGHANISTAN, 2020.

"Hey, General Hadith, those dumbfuck Americans are sending us another fucking SYN flood. What the hell do we do?"

"No problem, Private Towelhead, I already have everything deflected and under control."

"Did you write a Snort rule to filter their predictable pattern SYN floods?"

"Nope, I simply redirected our web presence to the Intranet and left a static duplicate of our website in the public web space, under a very telling subdomain."

"What subdomain?"

"dos-this-site-to-win.afghanistan.af"

"Fuckin' A."

Hit it right on the money vezzy.

These people must be retarded. That software cannot be created; it's so fucking unfeasible. But obviously they have started development which begs the question: Was there really no Sec expert involved in this whole process? And if there was, how the fuck could he tell them that such a tool can exist?

Judging by the fact that they're hiring video game developers to do this and the whole way it's presented, I'm assuming this isn't a serious project at all.

The actual "cyberwarriors" will likely be competent crackers and spies. I think this Plan X thing is all an elaborate placebo for the average soldier to boost his morale that he's actually doing something and FUCK YEAH MURRIKA TECHNOLAWDGEE.

Of course they've written their own little meta-language to make it more easily configurable, and of course an SDK for some of their more competent ranks to tinker around with.

Well, they could make algorithms to automatically "own" some server just by supplying an IP, but it would fail very often and it would not be reliable at all.
For example the algo would do a port scan, identify running services, then try to gather as much other info as possible and use all that to find an appropriate exploit in the database and then run it and so on.....
But this would be quite stupid and unreliable and would fail very very often especially on more unique and secure targets.

This project basically aims to develop the ULTIMATE script kiddie tool :D
And we all know that even though skiddy tools can be powerful and destructive, they are only usable on limited and narrow range or situations and if a situation that was not thought about when the tool was created comes around the corner, then the skid is screwed.

This project might be finished, but it will be nothing else than the ultimate skidy tool that automates common cyber attack scenarios.
Thats how I see it anyway.

This just cracks me up:

“Say you’re playing World of Warcraft, and you’ve got this type of sword, +5 or whatever. You don’t necessarily know what spells were used to create that sword, right? You just know it has these attributes and it helps you in this way. It’s the same type of concept. You don’t need the technical details,”
You guys need to stick to angry birds, clearly you can't even handle WoW, much less hacking computer systems.

LOL! :P

Thats just hilarious! :D
It never ceases to amaze me how stupid people actually get paid pretty well to write about shit that they have no clue about.

This is disturbing, assuming this project will succeed.
