What martial art you train?
« on: July 04, 2013, 09:58:53 pm »
Let's start from me, because I started thread xD . Atm I am training Kung Fu Wing Chun. For those who don't know what is it: Bruce Lee trained this martial art with Ip Man. Martial art is based on applied science combined with martial art. Here is one video for those who never saw how it looks like:

If I see you post your own images later I'll do the same xDDD .

I am trained martial arts for more than 7 years ( with some brakes ) i started with Pagration an ancient hellenic martial art ( a mix of wrestling and boxing ), then i started  Kick-Boxing in which i reached a high level and  still enjoying when ever i can, in the army i was trained in Krav Maga, an Israeli martial art which is very useful.

That's it, now what ? do you wanna fight me :)

Before you can fight gexxos you need to get past me :) lol. I am doing EWTO Wing Tsun and can't really tell for how long. I did it for 2 years.. then I needed to stop, then I started again (siu nim tao and chum kiu ftw. Soon I can start with biu tze). All in all its more than 6 years. When I was young I did Judo for at least 5 years :)

Wing Tsun is modification of Wing Chun, but still equally good martial art. It's game of reflex .

I trained basic Taekwondo for a year. Never really got the hang of it.

I'm trained in the martial art of doing nothing and sitting on my ass all day long, by far this is the most dangerous form of martial arts. You can kill an elephant with the accumulated belly fat that will develop from practising this martial art.

Inded. Plus you will become like Kung Fu Panda, with all that fat you could resist critical hits. xD

I'm currently only practicing one martial art and that's wrestling. I've been fairly successful with it and I'm currently one of the highest educated wrestling coaches in my country. My biggest accomplishment would be that two of my wrestlers won the national championship this year.

Anyway I would love to try out other martial arts but I do currently not have the time to practice them. One of the reasons is that I don't wan't to do Karate (too boring/childish for me) and I would have to travel to another town to practice the martial arts I want.

OP: I must say that Kung Fu Wing Chu looks pretty cool. Sadly I don't think there's a place in my country where they practice it.. I'm gonna try out MMA some time for sure..

That's nice Phage. You are good trainer then :-D . I often listen how people say that some martial art is better then some other. Reality is that it's not the martial art that win, it's mather of fighter.  Every martial art is good, and if you master it, who can stop you then :) .

True.. For me it's not about learning how to fight it's about self control and personal development. That's also why I wan't to try out multiple martial arts and I will for sure do it. I just need a car before it would be possible for me to do that  ;)

Yes, that's the point. To master yourself. Many people try martial art so they can show off. :D

And the truth is that such people won't last long. The people who do this for mastering specific things or because they have a passion tends to stick with their sport for much longer period time.
