Not that much, actually. The ticket alone for DEFCON is just $180 last I checked, compared to Black Hat USA's draconian price of $1795, and that's just the early price.

I did not pay for the entry as I participated in the CTF, though Defcon is cheap compared to Black Hat, which also is a lot more about being enterprise with 25% of the participants being HR or recruiters, 25% feds and then some media and actual security people. Black Hat is about $1800 for early birds and $2200 at the door, and that's just for the briefings without any training.

You definitely should consider going next year Kulverstukas!

The ticket might be cheap, but then the cost of getting to US from europe makes the cost much higher.
I thought of going, but then I guess I would better spend the money on something more valuable.

Let's just say it went as expected as I'm not gonna give up which team for privacy purposes:)

I can imagine it being a bit expensive from Europe, but guys (and girls) are joining from all over the world. With a full time job it is well worth the money - and Vegas is an experience on it's own.

Nice AA, did you get to see any nice talks or events? I really liked the jeopardy although having the goons winning was kind of anti climax.

Tickets are at the door and cash only, except for Blackhat attendees who will be able to order badges in advance.

Bally's and Paris are combined hotels, meaning from inside of Paris you can walk into Bally's and vice versa (doh..), not expecting any more mayhem than usual with 20k nerds in Las Vegas. At least it's on the strip and not 1.5km off like Rio.

I think DC 21 was better than 22. The CTF was nicer this year though due to the mixing of architectures and not all ARM. The CTF was still 8 people max and 20 teams, next year will be unlimited people and 15 teams, which I'm really looking forward to.
