Super computer simulates human brain!
« on: August 07, 2013, 12:17:41 am »
I was web surfing around and I came about this information;

Apparentely group of Japanese and German scientists have managed to simulate... 1% of our total brain activity...!

I quote: The simulation involved 1.73 billion virtual nerve cells connected by 10.4 trillion synapses... 1 second simulation of those neves took this computer 40 minutes... (4th supercomputer of the world)

And now, here comes a very clear idea of how powerful our brains and we as individuals are.

Life is beautiful. Remember that.

A machine will possibly never simulate, 100%, a human brain because it is in constant change, evolution and each individual is unique. Our real abilities and capabilities go far beyond our imagination/dreams.

Though using genetic engeneering we may be able to re-generate ruined neurons and possibly clone a brain with all its current info/data one day and even store it in some kind of ultra large size storage device. Stay tuned!

I can't seem to find the video, but on youtube somewhere I seen where they are now trying to develop hardware around neural networks. They are making the hardware itself more like the human brain and will run a neural net on the custom hardware. This may lead to advance AI upon other things.

Speaking of simulation and the matrix, if and when we are advanced in technology and can simulate something like the universe or reality, we can test the bounds inside the simulation to see how it works. Once we do that, we can test our own universe and reality to see if we are in fact some kind of simulation ourselves.

OR we just use this advanced simulation to have sex with supper awesome hot girls and live out our dreams......

Is it real? Physicists propose method to determine if the universe is a simulation

Now, a team of physicists working at the University of Bonn have come up with a possible means for providing us with the evidence we are looking for; namely, a measurable way to show that our universe is indeed simulated. They have written a paper describing their idea and have uploaded it to the preprint server arXiv.
