Music for Programmers
« on: September 08, 2013, 09:53:24 pm »
I found these 2 links with music for programmers to keep you focused, productive etc. so you will not have to rely always on your debugger to catch your bugs..., your brain will never be idle with these tones.

Quote from the 1st link
Quote
Through years of trial and error - skipping around internet radio stations, playing our entire music collections on shuffle, or just hammering single albums on repeat, we have found that the most effective music to aid prolonged periods of intense concentration tends to have a mixture of the following qualities:

Drones
Noise
Fuzz
Field recordings
Vagueness (Hypnagogia)
Textures without rhythm
Minor complex chords
Early music (Baroque, lute, harpsichord)
Very few drums or vocals
Synth arpeggios
Awesome
Walls of reverb

Music possessing these qualities can often provide just the right amount of interest to occupy the parts of your brain that would otherwise be left free to wander and lead to distraction during your work

A great find, I really liked 'Write in C'. Check out Dale's work with Dual Core if you haven't already, the beats have that nice 90's sound if you're into the genre. +1

int0x80's talk on anti-forensics is also very much worth seeing.

Sadly, it's a bit too 'ambient' for my needs.  I prefer things that keep me moving with a consistent rhythm.  I'd be interested to see what other EZ members have on their playlists for coding music.  I'll post a list of my own in a bit.

I am not much of a programmer but when i want to code or test something, i prefer some trance music, or electronica-chillout, as long as it doesn't make me sleep.
