John McAfee vows to make Internet 'impossible to hack'
« on: September 25, 2013, 09:06:36 pm »
"My new technology is going to provide a new type of Internet, a decentralized, floating and moving Internet that is impossible to hack, impossible to penetrate and vastly superior in terms of its facility and neutrality. It solves all of our security concerns," McAfee said in an interview with this newspaper.

If you can't explain it to a 6 year old, you don't understand it yourself.

I understand that McAfee is some decent anti-virus software, I use it myself as it's my favorite one..... BUT, what the fuck? This guy is not only way out of his league, he's somewhat of a dumbass. If he actually attempts to build this 100% secure internet, every big-shot hacker on the planet is going to attack it and tear it down.

His idea isn't new. Many people are trying to replace the WWW with homebrew and research projects, such as cjdns.

Problem with McAfee's suggestion is who will back him, will his "unhackable" Internet gain any adoption and finally will it be built on top of the existing one or not. If it is, then the whole thing becomes pointless.

If this involves reinventing the TCP/IP stack, it should be fun to watch.

Well you are right about the dumbass part cos he really has had alot of adventures in these past few years. But remember he had that great idea about the Mcafee AV almost 15 years back and it had its glory days when it topped other AVs.

You know we break things apart to make them better, let him try and we shall always be ready to break it.

Nothing is unhackable. If something gains attention, it is bound to get attacked and tore up. Same thing Sony said with their "unhackable" PS3. And look what happened...

also, lol @ silenthunder :D

@vezzy: yes, it'd be fun to watch.
