"Metal Gear" mini-review
« on: September 29, 2013, 05:06:52 pm »

Metal Gear is a series of action-adventure stealth video games, created by Hideo Kojima and developed and published by Konami. The first game, Metal Gear, was released in 1987 for the MSX2. The player takes control of a special forces operative Solid Snake who is assigned to find the titular superweapon "Metal Gear", a bipedal walking tank with the ability to launch nuclear weapons.

My input:

THE most awesome fucking game I ever had the fortune to play. It so awesome I don't know where to begin about it. Well, I'll start from the story.
The story is very deep and interesting. Whole game is about stealth. I have played most of them, didn't play those for weird consoles, but everything for PSP, PS1, PS2 I have played and they were all amazing. If I had to pick the one that I really really loved, it would be "Metal Gear Solid" for PS1. A 2 CD game and it was so awesome.
"Sons of Liberty", "Snake Eater" and "Portable Ops" were also as amazing.
Since the game is all about stealth, you can't go blasting your way through rooms when you get spotted like some games allow you to. You have to wait it out in hiding and after that continue walking silently. Solid Snake always likes to hide in a box :D
However, I did not play the "Metal Gear Rising" because looking closer at it, it is not following the story and some kind of a separate game...

I can't lie, NOTHING I have played as topped this series. I've played it since I was 5 years old, stopped for a few years, then when I heard of a new one coming out (I think it was Metal Gear Solid 4) I flipped shit and went and bought every single one. I still haven't beat the second or 4th ones, and I have yet to play Rising (waiting to borrow it from a friend, I'm a bit short on money as of late). I don't even know what to say about this, I love the series so much :DD
