Cyber Clean
« on: September 29, 2013, 06:21:25 pm »
Just wanted to talk about the new keyboard cleaning thing. I bought this little jello-like thing yesterday, hoping it will clean my damn keyboard for once, picking up crumbles and shit and cleaning my laptop keyboard is a PAIN, simply because it is very hard to get the keys out without breaking them. And well, I thought of this.

Watch a review on it to know what that thing is about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WGZFHkG718

It did clean my keyboard pretty well tbh. When you squeeze it on the keys, CyberClean spreads around and goes under the keys, picking up crumbles under the keys too. Of course it will not pick up stuff that needs grinding, but for loose crumbles and dust it is perfect.
I tried it on several TV remotes and they were as new - no dust.

I have seen that there are chinese cloned alternatives on eBay called "Super clean" and similar, for a much lower price, but I suspect that the quality will also be much lower...

Anyone else?

That's a coincidence. I found this stuff (the yellow one) in a drawer yesterday, don't know how it got there. I tried it on a laptop keyboard and it definitely looks nicer, but the nasty stuff that you'd need to scrape off stays. Also has a nice lemon+vodka smell. That being said, it doesn't really clean much, but neon colored jello is always fun.

For laptops this looks pretty good actually. :)
As for my regular keyboard, it takes a bath every couple months, I rip out the keys and leave them to soak.
Afterwards I try to put it back together(how does that damn qwerty work again.... :P )
In fact I place the keys in a funny way so that I force myself not to look at the keyboard, especially those '(*&*^%' keys I tend to cheat when I need those.
Now I cant.

Wtf where you thinking with that signature? - Phage.
This was another little experiment *evillaughter - Proxx.

Kulver, this sounds just great for laptop keyboard. I mean I can remove the keys without a hassle from my PC keyboard for cleaning them, but not from the laptop. I have to try this.

I have a blank keyboard for the same purpose: http://www.daskeyboard.com/product/model-s-ultimate/
Since I don't have the silent version I can also annoy my husband a lot while typing. :P
