Right, p vs np. Yes, I am posting this because I just watched a certain episode of Elementary. What do you guys think you would do if you SOMEHOW received the solution? Nothing? See what fun things you could get into? Sell it?
Personally, I would probably not do anything at all because I risk pushing myself into a pool of things bigger than I would feel comfortable in.

What would the "solution" conclude? P = NP || P != NP (?)

If I receive evidence of the latter, I'd send it everywhere just so people can stop wasting their efforts and move on to more practical work.

if you have the solution to a millennium problem, its a million dollars. hey id take that. secondly p=np being solved in either way(proof that its unsolvable or that its solvable) has huge implications on gargantuan number of things. In that sense its very practical to try to solve it. On the other side...the chances of it being solved in our lifetimes is about 0, so yeah you probably could be doing something more productive. Still p=np does set my mind a tingling.


Anyway wonder which problem will go next. My money is on Riemann.


Oh and only a crazy russian can turn down a million dollar prize....seriously did you see the pictures of where that guy lived? ive seen condemned buildings that were nicer/cleaner...
