3D modeling
« on: November 14, 2013, 04:09:26 pm »
Do we have any 3D modelers here? I am working on something and need foliage like flowers, bushes, shrubs, etc... for now. I prefer collada (dae) files with textures.

Any help would be good, I've been grabbing things from blendswap.com and looking at other sites, but if I had someone who could just do a few models that would be great.

If not, I guess I'll be spending some time on learning to model in Blender. I need to get some basics of it anyway, but meh.

Sorry i wont be much help i only learned enough to create a cool youtube intro for my channel. Oh ps. if you are trying to use a laptop with blender make sure you toggle the option for a virtual numpad or something like that cause trust me you will need those numpad shortcuts if you dont use them you will fail!

The most vulnerable part of an impenetrable system is those who believe it to be so.

I did spend time modelling in blender and obtained some skill but that must have been over 3/4 years.
Once you really understand the ui it all comes down to the artistic drawing skills , I once tried to design this female body, man that shit is not easy.
Wish I had the time , is it for the game you are making ?

3d max 9 and upwards has a great tool for creating quick foliage. You can change the leaf density, the girth of the tree and so on plus it comes with textures...
