Actual android dev is done with Java. Everything else is third-party unsupported crap and you'll have many headaches coding in anything else than Java.

Xamarin seems to be an exception. It has a lot of adoption and praise amongst enterprises and individuals, so much so that Microsoft themselves are intending on buying them.

Oh.. well that might kinda looks promising, however I really don't like the fact that it'll be done in C#.
I'll gonna have to take a loot at it :D

Thank you both for reply. I am not sure how hard java is to learn? I have all this basic concept of understanding programming in general, syntax is something I will have to learn of course.

HTML5 is also on an uprising. Javascript is simple enough. Using Canvas is just as good, if not better than Flash also.

I know a guy who devs with Xamarinat at his company. They use it instead of native Java and they seem pretty happy about it. The guy was really excited to tell me about it too. I'm not a fan of C# but if that's your fancy then sure.

You can use Xamarin for C# on android but you have to watch out because unless you're going to pay the 300$ for an indie license you will be limited to 32k lines of IL using the starter license.
