Making a game. I wanted to focus on code alone, but my lack of finding people to do assets and modeling and textures, I am taking it on alone.

Code is one thing and is whatever, the actual modeling and making things look okay is something else. I've learned a bunch about creating things, texturing them, applying normal maps, animating normals, etc... From distant mist [not applied yet] to back face culling [with foliage, nothing in the screenshot though], I have learned a bunch. Not enough to create something I am pleased with, but enough for pre beta stuff. I am still looking for modelers and people that can texture and make things look nice on the lower poly scale, but I am learning and doing it myself at this point. I have only one screenshot ATM. Once I get some assets and props into place, I plan on doing a video walkthrough. Wont do a video right now cause it's just some ground work, lol.



The water is animated and reflective. Can also switch between third and first person cameras. Movement is wasd and camera is controlled by the mouse. There are bugs, but will work on them once I get things look at least halfway decent.

oh that looks very cool bro! let me guess, you're coding it in C++?
Any way we could get a compiled game to test? :D
And btw, why is it called "Lawn wars"?

It clearly says blender at the top.
Guess hes using the blender game engine :)

It is using the Blender Game Engine. All the modeling is done in Blender also.

It's called Lawn Wars because you play as a lawn gnome, and throw rocks at the other lawn gnomes. It will be multiplayer and hopefully on steam.

I'll provide a binary once I get some more art on the scene and maybe fix a bug or two. Should be in the next couple days. Windows and Linux versions will be given out.

Update on landscape and terrain. I'm done modeling and texturing for now, good enough eh? Code and game mechanics are next. Fix some bugs like looking up/down clamping so you don't go all exorcist and invert vectors. There is also a camera switching bug, might fix but might add it to later fixes.
