Recently I got so fed up with Google's AVD... it's slow, it's unresponsive, heavy and stupid looking. Testing anything on it is near impossible!
I went out and searched for some alternatives, I just didn't expect to find anything useful.
After some digging, I did find solutions to my problems. I found 2 (there are probably more) Android systems ready for VirtualBOX.
One was
Android x86, read more here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android-x86It looks like a cool thing, is very fast and light, but there were some really big issues I came to when I was using it. Usually the internet does not seem to work and you have to do linux stuffs to make it work, and changing the resolution also isn't very straightforward...
An improvement to the previous one was found, it's called
AndroVM. As I understand it's basically the same "Android x86" but with lots of changes, distributed as VirtualBOX files, so you can just import it, boot it and start working - everything works. Internet works great, changing the resolution isn't such a big deal as well!
What do you people think? do you know more of these?
