What do you expect for 2014 in terms of politics, economy, science etc?

My expectation is that nothing will be changed. I expect more wars, fucked up economy, and higher inflation.

Also we can expect higher carbon and methane parts per million in the atmosphere leading to the earth being unable to support life in less then a hundred years.

Those laws are only put in place so average ignorant american citizens will believe the corporations are actually following them. Besides, even if it's regulated we've already gone far enough. It's kind of a snowball effect at this point.

Lol yeah, you know we must "liberate" everyone from themselves. The US military's gotta ship heroin back to our country somehow right? :P

Well in fact the biggest nations on the planet did not the sign kyoto protocol.
I cannot find a quick reference that claims otherwise at this point in time, could have changed though.
One must realize that "saving the planet" is just an expensive socialist thing to do, it is like giving health support to the poor.
Who on earth would want to do that.. that shit costs money *insert some false yet so complex that barely anyone will understand 'economic' arguments here*

I have positive expectations for 2014, specifically in consumer electronics. Google Glass and Oculus' Rift are going to be great steps forward. I'm fairly confident in the Rift's ability to be a commercial success, and while Glass might not be the big hit Google wanted, it could make for a good proof of concept and trial run for cheaper and more viable options in the future. But we'll see.
