Science has concluded that we do in fact use most of our brain, the question is how much, and how efficiently? This is relevant to the point.
Let's enjoy a theoretical scenario: Let's imagine that there's an advanced race of humans just like us, the only difference is that they have been evolving for a couple more million years in a different star system. My opinion is that they would probably have the same brain capacity as us, and evolved to utilize it more efficiently. Maybe the same thing is going on here on Earth.
Once our civilization develops enough there won't be a need for an elite ruling party whose job it is to keep us dumb so they can keep a legacy model in place. I don't have time to source the all the material for this conclusion, however it is likely the case. Our obsession with material success has regressed our evolution, in favor of what makes the most money. Tesla figured out by the early 1900's how to use the electromagnetic field of the Earth to draw unlimited, free energy[1]. Imagine what the utilities distributors must have said when they were told you can't meter this type of connection. It's time to evolve and I think we have been and are being suppressed from our own potential.
Our Earth is already rich in resources and can provide for everyone. We all would like to live in each others happiness rather than despise each other in misery, but we have lost the way. Greed has poisoned the souls of men.
The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish. - A Jewish Barber(quote from The Great Dictator; 1940)
