Dynamic DNS services?

I want to make a miniature FTP/web server from home, but to do that I first need to set up a dynamic DNS somehow. There are many to choose from, so anyone wanna recommend some?

Someone recommended this one to me a few days ago: http://freedns.afraid.org/
said it worked well but I haven't tried it so i don't know.

@d4rkcat: Thanks. Looks like they are supported by DD-WRT and whatnot, seems like a huge service. I just registered and tried it out - works great so far

I used to us3 dnydns but they no longer offer free services. I also used to use no-ip but havent in years and idk if they're even still around

It is afaik but the terms of service and privacy policy are scary.

Its changed ALOT since I've used it. Before it was no-ip.info and had nothing to do with the .com counterpart. It's a pity when things grow and had something good they change so much for the worse...

Ok, now I understand that it's useful for those whose IP constantly change. Mine doesn't so I won't be needing that after all heh.

Yeah you can use a dyn if you have a changing IP, however if you don't want to memorize your IP it's an option

An even better option is to make a subdomain on my domain where I host my website to point to my home IP
This is for those who actually have a domain name

My brother turned me to zone edit and thats the only thing I've used since. You can even register your domain with them so its super handy. dd-wrt also supports it if I remember correctly.
